POWERS: Since being Turned, Devin's senses have been acutely enhanced. He's gained some invulnerability, though the typical vampire weaknesses apply to him. Thanks to his vampirism, he hates fire and wooden stakes. Sunlight doesn't burn him, though, it's just completely irritating and gives him a major headache. He has greatly enhanced strength, speed, and agility. Does he have control over it? Well considering he's accidentally supersped into a wall multiple times, the answer's no. He's just a fledgling.

[/span]At the age of six, his family was attacked by unknown monsters and his adopted father, Adam, was killed in the process. All he remembered was grabbing his little sister and hiding her in the closet before going back for their mother. Damien's particular magic had been necromancy and in a moment of grief, she'd resurrected his dead husband after killing the monsters, not knowing Devin was watching. He'd been stunned and overjoyed that he didn't have to loose someone again. But Adam hadn't been the same, not all of him had returned. His soul, what had made him himself, hadn't returned. He'd attacked Damien and would have killed her if she hadn't fought back, killing him again.

Now the "man of the house", Devin stepped up and took care of his little sister, his mother too stricken with grief and trauma. His mother pulled away from her coven and friends and thus isolated her children. It was Devin who made sure his sister had access to learning about magic. He was the one who took his mother and father's books on magic and read them to his little sister. He not only took care of Lindsey, but their mother as well. Damien had become a shell of the powerful woman she used to be, having slipped into depression. It took all he had to keep their mother from committing suicide, and he knew it. He knew how broken she was and that there wasn't anything he could do to put her back together.

Juggling his family and schooling was hard, but he managed. He was at the top of his class every year and learned both English and French fluently. He'd thought, as messed up as his life was, that he had a handle of it. The universe decided to prove him wrong. At the age of seventeen, on his birthday, he was attacked by a man who turned out to be a vampire. He was bit and killed. However he vividly remembers waking up in the same alley he'd been attacked in. Over the next few weeks, he discovered he'd been turned into a vampire. The man who turned him was now his sire and he found out that whatever his sire ordered, he would do.

He found out that he couldn't disobey his sire when the man came to him and ordered him to drink from a human so he could complete his transformation into a vampire. The taste of human blood has never left his mind since. Fearing for himself and his family, Devin felt he had no choice but to leave France. He was drawn to Beacon Hills, enrolled in the high school by forging his mother's signature. In America, he can only hope he's far enough away and that his sire will never find him.
