Niklaus had planned on a wonderful evening at home, locked in his room, doing his homework. However, upon leaving school, his elder sisters had picked him up and demanded he go to the mall with them. He complied, though, unwilling at first. He never liked going shopping with them. They tended to leave him behind. And that is exactly what they had done tonight.
The girls wanted to go into Victoria's Secret and Niklaus refused. Why would he want to go in there? It was stupid, besides, he was completely gay. He had no interest in women's lingerie. Nor did he think he would be of help to his sisters in such a store. He chose to stay away. He had gone to a small sitting area outside the store and started his reading homework, only to find an hour later the girls had left him. Typical of them. Needless to say, the young witch would have to walk home.
He generally always walked home, so the trip wasn't anything new to him. The only difference was how dark it was. By now, he was sure his sisters were home and were now just realizing they had left him at the mall. Granted, they wouldn't go back for him. They never had before, why would they start now.
On his normal walks home, he always passed the Eichen House. He didn't know why, but the place fascinated him. Maybe because he wondered if his power of data manipulation would be of any use to those sick within the walls of such a haunted looking place. He always stopped at the gates and stared at the towering mansion. He knew he would never be able to help those within that fortress. Not unless he aimed to be something noble, like a doctor. However good he was with copying and fixing small errors in the anatomy's data, he was no doctor.
Klaus gave a small sigh as he laced his fingers around the bars to the front gate. Iron was not data, and therefore, he could not alter it's existence, no matter how much force of will he used. His fingers slipped from the bars, his gaze never leaving the front door. He stood there for a long moment before he turned. It was time to head home. He wasn't looking forward to actually walking through his front door. He wished something would happen to distract him if only for a little while. He wanted something to delay him from the inevitable. He did not want to go home. Not yet. And if truth was to be told, he never wanted to go back again.
