To put it simply. Blaze had run away from home. It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon and instead of going straight home after his normal hikes through grandma's forest, he took a slight detour. He truly wasn't sure if he even wanted to go home. He knew if he asked really nicely he could probably get a few free days at Cyrus' house, but that trick would only last him so long. He was a druid. Not a fox. And he knew he wouldn't be able to out wit Cyrus forever.
A few days ago, his mother gave him his next 'druid homework assignment'. It was stupid. He got enough homework from school, he didn't need his parents piling it on with druid crap. This time, instead of a walk through grandma's forest, like normal, he was assigned the task of finding possible werewolf packs for his friend to join. For Cyrus to join. This particular assignment scared him a bit more than he was willing to admit.
Blaze had already advised Cy to find a pack, however, Cyrus just seemed to brush the idea off. Blaze knew that it would take a miracle for Cyrus to find a pack on his own and even if Blaze could somehow pull off finding a few, he doubted Cy would bite. Especially if Cyrus knew this particular assignment of Blaze's had put the young druid on edge.
Cyrus was a rather intuitive werewolf. Sensitive to those around them. Blaze knew that the werewolf pup could sense Blaze's uneasy over the week. Blaze had begged his mother for clues and hints, but she refused. She told him it was his job, his duty, to identify and help werewolves in need. Bull. He could barely identify his own father in a crowd of people, let alone finding a complete stranger that was supposed to be a werewolf.
Blaze heaved a heavy sigh before he looked around the area he had claimed as his own for the time being. He sat in a very specific place within the forest. He only wore his pants and tennis shoes, no shirt, his 'bad wolf' hoodie laying folded next to him. His headphones plugged into this cellphone as he listened to the constant drone of music that spilled from the earpieces. He sat atop the Nemeton. He could feel the power of the great oak beneath him. It helped him clear his head, even if he did find this old and ridiculous tree to be creepy.
He dare not draw on the power for he wouldn't know how to use it. He just liked the feel of something that powerful beneath him, it helped keep him grounded.
Blaze once again took a deep breath before he let out a scream. He screamed with all he had. Once the sound finally stopped echoing he turned and looked around again. The only thing there besides him was a rabbit, that looked at him like he was an idiot. "What? It was worth a try. It works for Banshees when they need to drown out the sounds, right?" The rabbit ran off.
He groaned as he fell backwards, now laying there, staring at the sky. What was he going to do? "Maybe I can make flyers that state: Werewolf Packs wanted. Please contact Omega's Druid. Yup. That sounds like that would work wonders." He muttered to himself, his voice dripping with sarcasm. He was definitely going to fail this assignment. The worst part was, he feared that if he did find Cyrus a pack to join, Cy would just leave Blaze to be with his new friends. His new family. Those that would actually understand him, unlike Blaze, who could only speculate.
