I USED TO LOOK INTO MY FATHER'S EYES
SPECIALIZATION: Human
POWERS: Alice is your every-day average human. With a small twist. She grew up in a Witch family and was fully prepared to become a full time witch on her fifteenth birthday, but that did not happen. Despite her devastation, she never put her years of study down the drain. Alice has an in depth knowledge of witchery, at least the theory behind it all. She has even written her own Grimoire entry in her family’s book. After her disastrous fifteenth birthday, she left home to go live with her grandmother on the other side of the country and then went on to get a normal, human education. Within a few years Alice became a full licensed veterinarian and is currently studying bioengineering for pleasure. She is an avian and large animal specialist in her veterinary career.

those days are gone
NOW THE MEMORY'S ON THE WALL
DISLIKES/HATES: Puns, baking (although she does bake when she’s stressed), sweet foods, physical contact, hunters, stupid questions, making mistakes, not being in control, arrogance, being a disappointment.
STRENGTHS: Witchcraft knowledge, Photographic memory, fast reflexes.
WEAKNESSES: Vulrnerable like any other human, her curiosity, cautiously prejudice against other creatures.
HABITS: Bakes sweets when stressed, wakes up early everyday (even on weekends).
BASIC PERSONALITY:
(+) Clever- Alice has always been a very studious, hard working woman. From a very young age she has had the ability to dedicate her entire focus into a single topic or problem. If left alone, Alice could keep herself elbow-deep in research for days on end with minimal amount of sleep or eating. Despite the obvious harm to her health, her one track mind can keep her occupied for days at a time with a problem. It also doesn't help that Alice harbours a perfectionist nature and when a problem is presented to her, it usually bothers her innocently until she solves it. Alice loves nothing more than learning. Her love of learning is her drive and reason for most of the things she does.
(+) Individualistic- Perhaps Alice's most fatal flaw is in her inability to ask for help. She hates relying on others due to many different reasons. Primarily it is because of her individualistic nature that deters her from outside help. Alice likes doing things her own way and combined with her stubbornness; she barely ever reaches out for help. Also, being a perfectionist and a bit of control freak, Alice prefers doing everything herself and has very little faith in other people doing a task correctly without being under her direct guidance.
(/) Stubborn- Being the strong willed woman she is, Alice is irreversibly stubborn. Her dogged determination is her main driving force of personality and she will fight tooth and nail for her beliefs. She does not change to fit other people and is very firm on her standings in life. This tends to make her a rather argumentative person and she rarely if ever backs down from a fight or challenge. People usually just view Alice as being a very difficult person but her arguments are always intelligent and well versed in nature.
(-) Snarky- The snark is strong in this one. Alice is all for defying the authority of others. Her stubbornness sees to that. Her most common defense in a conversation is snark and she frequently back-talks others without remorse.
(-) Grim- Alice is as far away from happy-go-lucky characters as possible. She is cynical and critical for many things in her life. Most of her grim attitude stems from her cautious side as a person. She is a very 'half-empty' person and always expects the worst of people. Because she is such a perfectionist, Alice has lost her ability to believe in other people and always assumes the worst.

BIOGRAPHY: [/span]Alice Archer was born from two very ancient, sacred blood lines of Witches. Her parents were the only living heirs to their respective blood lines and were very proud to have given birth to a powerful future witch like Alice. Alice spent her entire childhood preparing for the day she would gain her powers. She read and reread the family Grimoire ever night before she went to sleep and her parents hired numerous tutors for her to learn witchcraft from. Her entire life was training for the pinnacle moment she would turn sixteen and become a witch. At the age of ten her focus change somewhat when her little sister Andrea was born. Alice felt obliged to feel love for her little sister but nothing more beyond that. Her entire focus was still on her upcoming ritual to grant her her powers. As the years shortened and the ritual approached with alarming speed, Alice continued to study furiously and never paid much mind to childish things such as playing or having fun.
The day of her fifteenth birthday, Alice felt that she was more than ready for anything. She was very wrong. The hour of her birthday came and went with not even a spark of magic in Alice. She grew more and more frantic with each hour past and finally admitted defeat at the stroke of midnight the next day. Alice was furious, shocked, and depressed. She had been so sure that she would naturally gain the ability of strong witch craft only to have it ripped away from her. Unable to stand the sight of her parents’ disappointed looks, Alice packed up her things and moved to the opposite side of the country to her grandmother.
An angry and brooding Alice went to school in Seattle and graduated with topic marks from human high school. Her relationship with her Grandmother Eleanor became very strong because Eleanor helped her grand-daughter struggle with the adjustment to human life and helped her come to terms with her humanity. The night before she left for university, Alice got an unexpected visit from her mother. Catalina turned up on her eldest daughter’s doorstep in tears and explained the affair she had with a Druid that resulted in Alice’s birth. Alice calmly slammed the door in her mother’s face. She didn’t know that would be the last time she would ever see her mother again.
Alice breezed through university to become a veterinarian in a few short years and moved back in with her grandmother while she looked for a job. A week after Alice moved back in with Eleanor, the two of them got frantic work of witch hunters finding their familial coven. The two of them raced across the country but did not arrive in time to save Arnold and Catalina. But they did manage to save little Andrea from the same fate. Alice adopted her younger half-sister without much fuss and the two of them moved to Beacon Hills together for some much needed freedom from their past demons.

Beacon Hills was a town unlike anything Alice had ever experienced. She had lived in relatively big cities all her life up until Beacon Hills and it was fairly difficult for her to adjust at first. The biggest adjustment for her had been the sheer nosiness of all the people in the town. No secret was every kept for very long in a small town like Beacon Hills. Except for the supernatural secrets. At first the amount of creatures living in the town surprised her to no end, but after some thought, Alice found the appeal. Beacon Hills should be like every other small town in the USA but it attracted the supernatural like a strong magnet. Her decision to move to Beacon Hills had been a spontaneous one. or so she had thought. The more time she spent in the town, the more Alice began to reason that something in the town drew her like every other supernatural creature that ended up in the town. In the end, Alice put the thought away for another time. After all, the most important thing right now was her little sister. The trauma she must have witnessed at the death of her parents was insurmountable but in an odd way, Alice could sympathize with her. She could remember the feeling of losing everything after she learned that she was not a witch, but in fact ordinarily, painfully human. Alice also remembered the way her grandmother helped her overcome her depression and move on with her life. She could only pray that she could do for Andrea what her grandmother had down for her. Despite her all-consuming thoughts of her estranged sister, Alice also had herself to worry about. Her first veterinary job was at the Beacon Hills Vet clinic, and working there was much more difficult than it seemed back at university. Not many people had domestic pet birds, so her specialty in birds was somewhat useless in the town, but there were plenty of nearby farmers who asked her to checked up their livestock. So she had spent the last few days wandering from barn to barn looking at farm animals of all kind. Truth be told, the work was exhausting but the people were nice. The towns folk were rather welcoming sort, and their animals presented her with a challenge thus far. So far, things were looking up for the remaining members of the Archer coven but Alice could only feel mounting dread as the days went on. She was just tensely waiting for the other shoe to drop. |
i still remember how it all changed
